Artillery

Artillery types

• Assault guns - the most powerful weapons, these guns can be used against a variety of targets, but also fire the slowest, and also have the highest cost in manpower and resources.
• SPGs - usually artillery, although Italy's SPG units often represent a different class of unit altogether. Generally suited to being jack-of-all-trade units, capable of decent damage against a variety of targets but suffer from having a minimum range. They fire rather slowly and lack power, especially against redoubts and fortification complexes.
• Field guns/Howitzers - Slow and cheap, field guns are all you have at the beginning of the game, and while they are useful for knocking down buildings, massed infantry and can also deal damage to early heavy vehicles, they are highly subceptible if pitted against aircraft or heavy fortifications. Field guns are fairly weak at the beginning of the game, but can be upgraded to 100mm+variants — ostensibly the big guns meant for sowing death and lamentation from afar.

Antitank guns

Why build antitank guns?

• They are cheaper than artillery and tanks
• Each one fires faster than normal artillery although they have lower attack
• An antitank gun also can reach farther than an antitank rifle.

37mm artillery

Comes in six different flavours:

• Bofors 37mm for Europe, USA and Middle Eastern factions, drawn by British Light Dragon / French UE.
• 37mm TRP for Asia - again use either Light Dragon / UE
• Skoda guns for all others, drawn by UE.
