Heavy tanks are tanks with high-calibre weapons and good armour and hitpoints. They are hard to move as much as they are hard to destroy. Examples include the IS-series of the Soviets, and the French B1.

  • Extremely slow unit with lots of armour, and extremely hard to kill
  • The old Mk VIII Liberty doesn't do a great deal of damage, but further upgrades are capable of added damage against all other vehicles, except self-propelled guns.
  • Strong attack with a minimum range against a variety of units, but very weak to self-propelled guns and commandos - self-propelled guns are best used against heavy vehicles, while commandos can use the heavy tank's minimum range to great effect.
  • All tanks of the equivalent of Char B1 and above have in addition to an armour-piercing attack, the ability to deal spalsh damage and attack ground.

Unique heavy tank units

As a general rule, only the 7 major powers are capable of building these monsters.

  • Mk VIII Liberty -  Available to France, Britain, America and Russia; outclassed by medium tanks later on. Think of this as a movable tower.
